25Books is proud to be a member of First Book.  First Book is a non profit that is able to obtain brand new books directly from publishers.  Those books are listed through their online marketplace or their book bank.  Individual books can be ordered through the marketplace at heavily discounted prices.  25Books buys books through this marketplace at $2 to $5 each.  The book bank is a collection of books that First Book provides for free (+ shipping) and are shipped by the box.  It's an efficient way to get popular books at less than $1 each.

25Books is also a Scholastic Literacy Partner.  The Scholastic Literacy Partner program is for nonprofits to purchase books directly from Scholastic at up to 50% off the retail price.  There are also collections available for purchase and $1 specials.  While not as heavily discounted as First Book, there are more titles available and the selection is more consistent.  Books can easily be purchased for under $5 and most under $3.

Scholastic also offers warehouse sales a few times a year at their various warehouses throughout the country.  25Books is a regular customer to take advantage of Scholastic offering the entire warehouse at "Buy One Get One" prices.  Even books that are on sale for $1 to $3 are BOGO.  This enables the program to get books as low as $.50 apiece.  To serve so many kids during a school year, 25Books needs to purchase thousands of books.  The warehouse sale is a good way to buy a high number of books at low prices.
